- Check the power steering components for the source of the fluid leak and found that the external cooler assembly is the main source which will need to be replaced in order to repair the issue. Remove the front bumper and front body components to access the existing power steering cooler assembly. Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses and remove the attaching hardware. Remove the cooler assembly from the vehicle and clean the residual fluid from the surrounding areas. Install the new cooler assembly into the vehicle and tighten all hardware to specification. Connect the cooler hoses to the new assembly and reinstall the front bumper and body components. Run the engine and check for leaks to confirm repairs.
