Services Performed
- Remove front steering and suspension components and spindles. Remove retaining rings or clips and remove ball joint assemblies from the control arm. Clean the control arm bore and press in new lower joint. Replace upper joint with new fasteners and install new hardware and cotter pins. Lubricate all steering and suspension components and check the preload of the spindle. Replace steering and braking system components and clean and repack front wheel bearings and hub assemblies where applicable. Perform a wheel alignment and road test the vehicle.
- Remove the vehicles wheels in order to gain access to the right inner tie rod end. Remove any components that interfere with the removal of the tie rod end (braking components, shields). Remove cotter pins and hardware that attach the tie rod end to spindle and adjusting sleeve. Remove the outer tie rod end and remove bellows from the rack and pinion. Install an inner tie rod end removing tool and finally remove the tie rod end from the vehicle. Apply thread lock to the threads of the new inner tie rod end and install onto the rack and pinion. Tighten to specification and reassemble all previously removed components, in reverse order, back to original configuration. Tighten all hardware to manufacturer specification and grease all applicable joints on the steering components and reinstall vehicles wheel.
- Road test the vehicle to verify any alignment concerns. Check and or set all tire pressures. Install targets on the vehicles wheels, and take initial alignment measurements. Adjust the factory toe angle to specification, and verify that the other alignment angles on both the front and rear axles are within specifications. Note: Shims, Eccentrics and labor for fixed alignment angles in both the front and the rear are not included.
