- Upon removal of the transmission the transmission will need to be disassembled to pinpoint the source of the issue. Disassemble the transmission and found that the input shaft bearing has failed and will need to be replaced to repair the issue. Remove the remaining parts of the input shaft bearing and press a new bearing into the case. Reassemble all of the transmission components and reassemble the case halves. Reinstall the transmission with a new flywheel and road test the vehicle to confirm repairs. NOTE: The removal and installation cost was taken care of by Car Doc for customer loyalty and satisfaction.
