- Verify proper coolant level in both the radiator and or expansion tank. Pressure test system to systems normal operating range. Check for leaks at all hoses, clamps, fittings, connections, and components. Allow vehicle to remain pressurized and check for a pressure loss. Run the engine to operating temperature and check the cooling systems flow rate and thermostat opening temperature. Perform hydrocarbon test to check for the presence of a cylinder head, cylinder head gasket, or block failure. Check the acidity and freeze protection of the coolant and pressure test the radiator and or expansion tank cap to check for proper operation of the relief valve. Determined that the engine coolant leak is coming from the lines at the turbocharger assembly which will need to be replaced in order to repair the issue. Due to the turbo having to be removed to access the lines it is recommended that all lines (oil & coolant) be replaced along with any necessary gaskets and fittings. Remove all components necessary to gain access to the turbocharger components. Disconnect the coolant and oil lines from the turbo and disconnect the exhaust pipe. Remove the turbo from the vehicle and replace the faulty coolant lines using new connectors. Reinstall the turbo assembly and tighten all hardware to specification. Reconnect all fittings and clamps and fill the cooling system to capacity. Run the engine to purge any air from the system and check for leaks to confirm repairs.
