- Install data scanner and engine analyzer. Run tests on the fuel, ignition, and computer control systems. Retrieve fault codes from the processors memory. Codes exist in the system for >>>>>>>>>>>>>. Perform all necessary pin point tests checking the wiring, grounds, relays, and related circuit components to isolate the problem to <<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>.
- Remove brackets, harnesses, and connectors necessary to access the alternator. Disconnect vehicles battery and clean terminals. Install battery charger to the vehicles battery to bring the battery to specification and retest. Remove serpentine drive belt and check belts condition. Remove the vehicles alternator and clean and tighten all terminals and electrical connections. Install replacement alternator and center on mounting bracket. Torque fasteners to specification and clean accessory pulley grooves. Reinstall removed components and hook up battery power. Run full electrical system analysis (see VAT test) and road test to insure that all charging and starting system components are functioning normally.
